Welcome to the Dorset Precision Shooting Club.

About the club

The Dorset Precision Shooting Club or DPSC was born from the Dorset Police Shooting Club and became independent from the police service in 2022.

Now that the DPSC has become independent we can open our doors to new members. We have Experienced and Qualified coaches who are looking forward to introducing each new member to the world of target and precision shooting.

Please feel free to navigate further into our page so see what we have to offer as a club, if you have any questions there are contact details are the bottom of the page.

What we can offer

We are committed to shooting in a safe, relaxed, informative, welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, both for able bodied and those with additional needs (where access allows). Our Coaches will assist and encourage each shooter towards the level of proficiency they desire.

We are a Rifle and Pistol Club shooting Full Bore and Small Bore rifles with air rifles & pistols alike. We have access to the facilities described below.

We have access to the ranges at Cobbham social club as our home range, we also have affiliations with other clubs and organizations including The NRA and Bisley Shooting Ground, The Tunnel Target Sports Center, Dorchester Shooting Club & Bridport Shooting Club. We also have affiliations with local shooting businesses like Brothers in Arms (Christchurch).

The club has also joined the local dorset postal league through the Dorset Small Bore Rifle and Pistol Association.

As a club we are looking forward to welcoming both experienced shots and new comers wanting to experience shooting for the first time. We are also involved in Internal and National competitions at all levels and different disciplines within the sport.

Joining the club

Joining the club is easy, there is a link below to our membership form. The commitment for a probationary member is time intensive, there being a 3 month minimum regular attendance requirement, having completed the below listed mandatory supervised training shoots, before the committee votes on a probationary member becoming a full member of the club.

Once the following steps have been completed the committee will meet to vote on the member joining the club in full.
