A police club became
a community club.
Independent since 2022, the Dorset Precision Shooting Club opened its doors to anyone who wants to shoot — safely, well, and with coaching that genuinely makes a difference.
From the police shooting club to an open door.
The Dorset Precision Shooting Club — DPSC — was born from the Dorset Police Shooting Club, and became independent from the police service in 2022.
Independence meant change. The club that once trained a single unit now opens its doors to new members every month. Our experienced, qualified coaches are looking forward to introducing each newcomer to the world of target and precision shooting.
What we offer
We are committed to shooting in a safe, relaxed, informative, welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere — for able bodied shooters and for those with additional needs, where access allows. Our coaches assist and encourage each shooter towards the level of proficiency they desire.
We are a rifle and pistol club, shooting full bore and small bore rifles, and air rifles and pistols alike.

How we operate.
Five things you can expect on every visit, every shoot, every competition.
Safety first
Range safety regulations, safe firearm handling and NRA-standard safe shooter practice are the foundation of everything we do.
Welcoming to all
Newcomers and seasoned competitors shoot side by side. The club is open to able bodied and disabled shooters alike, where access allows.
Coaching that works
Qualified coaches guide each member, from first sight to full proficiency, at the level you want to reach.
Relaxed, informative atmosphere
A range where you'll learn as much between shoots as you will on it — and actually enjoy being there.
Progression for everyone
From a first air rifle to national and internal competition, there is a path for every level of ambition.
Community & competition
Internal meets, the Dorset postal league, and national events keep the club moving and growing together.
